Weekend Walking Holidays

Join us to explore the British Isles on a weekend away.

Our weekend walking holidays are very popular and book up quickly. You must be a member of the Ramblers to book onto a weekend holiday.

Bookings open at one of our regular pub meets, so to bag yourself a place you need to look out for the opening date and attend the pub meet on that day to book it. You don’t have to attend the pub meet, but bookings are on a first come first served basis and it is quite common for weekends to sell out in a single night.

You can pay by cheque at the time you book the weekend away or by bank transfer. Ask the weekend organiser if you are interested for full details.

The Nottingham & Derby Walking Group is a not for profit organisation and it is run by volunteers. The weekend holidays are extremely good value and we do not make a profit on them.

  • Fri 3 May 2024 - Mon 6 May 2024: May Day Bank Holiday Weekend

    Grinton, Yorkshire

    • Places: 16
    • Led by: Rachael Drewery

The weekend will be based in the Swaledale area of Yorkshire with planned walks on the 4th, 5th and 6th. We will also be booking a meal for the Saturday evening in either Grinton or Reeth. In a change for those who have been on an NDWG weekend before, individuals will be responsible for booking their own accommodation. An obvious choice with twin rooms, shared rooms, dorms, pods and camping is the YHA at Grinton Lodge. There are, however, a number of b&b’s in the area and hotels in Richmond (about 30 min. drive away). For enjoyment and safety, numbers will be limited to 16 group members. As usual we will need details for those attending (including Ramblers no.) and where you are staying. I will set up an email list and, as we will not all be staying in the same place, a WhatsApp group to assist daily communication. If you are interested in attending, please direct message or email Rachael at weekends@ndwg.org.uk
